The vision document at the bottom of this page was compiled following consultation with community partners and features the key areas of focus we and the local community consider important. Fundamentally, it presents a financially sustainable plan for Lockwood.
And now, we have the go-ahead (subject to legal details being agreed by both parties) from the council, based on the vision.
Lockwood Studios is already taking shape, with a launch planned for 2025.
The Lockwood Studios Vision has six areas of focus:

The plan is to enhance the current use of the Lockwood Centre located in Slyfield Estate, Guildford, and to create an exciting new community facility for the local area.
A regenerated Lockwood would help unlock the potential of thousands of local people across a host of vital services including social care, well-being, the arts and new business enterprise.
Our ambition is to coordinate with industry to encourage social enterprises and innovative start-ups to establish themselves at Lockwood. We will collaborate with social service providers and key workers to offer alternative provision and intervention programmes for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND). We intend to consult with local creatives to establish Lockwood as a leading centre for community-focused arts. Our aspirations also include teaming-up with sustainability experts to adapt Lockwood and presenting the new building as a beacon of excellence in environmental retro-fitting.
Lockwood will continue to offer a platform to promote and celebrate the work of disabled artists and disability art organisations in Surrey. This new hub will become a welcoming, inclusive and accessible place for the Creative Industries working in technology as well as more traditional practices. Such enterprises we wish to attract include Gaming and Video Streaming.
A feature of our ambition is to help tackle health inequality, through an integrated programme of activities and services to improve well-being for all. These programmes will include art therapy, and dynamic pathways for social prescribing, working with partner organisations and link workers to sign post and match-make the offer.
